Deputy Director, International Centre for Water Hazard and Risk Management Profile / Bio Profile / Bio Tetsuya IKEDA started working as a government official on civil engineering since April 1989 at the Ministry of Construction (Now Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism: MLIT) on river engineering and flood disaster risk reduction. He also worked on water supply system planning, drinking water quality guideline at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, and wastewater pollution control at the Ministry of the Environment of Japan.In 2001-2003, he worked in France on world water issues, and then in 2005-2007, he worked in China as a JICA project leader of Human Resources Development Project for Water Resources.
