Steve Diggs

Steve Diggs is a distinguished data specialist whose extensive career has been marked by a profound dedication to the management and preservation of critical scientific data. 

For over four decades, from 1980 to 2022, Steve Diggs served as the Technical Director of the Hydrographic Data Office (CCHDO) at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography. 

In this pivotal role, he played a crucial part in the management of hydrographic data and the broader domain of earth science data management. His expertise extended beyond traditional data management, encompassing scientific software engineering and data archaeology, contributing significantly to the advancement of data-driven research. 

In 2022, Steve transitioned to a new role as Senior Product Manager at the University of California Curation Center within the California Digital Library.
