Srinvasa Popuri

Srinivasa oversees programmes across South and Southeast Asia. He has over 25 years of experience in the field of human settlements and urban development. His extensive career includes significant roles within the United Nations, where he has worked for over 19 years across various countries in Asia and the Pacific. Srinivasa has held key positions such as the Senior Human Settlements Officer at UN-Habitat, where he has been instrumental in advancing the Habitat agenda.

His work has focused on improving living standards through advocating for policies that enable the poor to gain access to land, shelter, and services. He has led post-crisis recovery and reconstruction efforts in countries like Myanmar, Indonesia, Afghanistan, and the Maldives, emphasizing community-driven development and disaster risk reduction. A notable achievement in his career is the establishment of the Urban Research and Development Institute in Myanmar and the launch of the lnle Lake Long-Term Restoration Plan.

Srinivasa's expertise in urban planning, housing policy, and disaster rehabilitation has made him a key figure in promoting sustainable urban development across the region.
