Profile / Bio

Dr. Sreenivas A. Nair is a medical doctor with a postgraduate degree in public health and over 25 years of experience in tuberculosis (TB) care. Since February 2018, he has served as Senior Adviser with the Stop TB Partnership, hosted at UNOPS, after working as the National Professional Officer for TB at the World Health Organization Country Office in India. He has provided high-level technical support to the Stop TB Partnership, the Global Fund, and national TB programs, with expertise in TB epidemiology, control strategies and policies, urban TB care, private sector engagement, and operational and implementation research. He has also supported countries in advancing real-time digital surveillance systems, artificial intelligence solutions, and climate-related assessments to guide investments in climate-resilient health systems.

Earlier in India, Dr. Nair led major initiatives that introduced new technologies, systems, and policy guidelines for TB control, including the Standards for TB Care in India (STCI) and the national case-based notification system, NIKSHAY. He has authored more than 80 peer-reviewed publications on tuberculosis. An Indian national, he now resides in Geneva, Switzerland.
