Sirapong Sooktawee

Sirapong Sooktawee is an environmentalist at the senior professional level and Head of the Standardization and Laboratory Sub-division at the Department of Climate Change and Environment (DCCE), Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, Thailand. He specializes in air quality (e.g., VOCs and PM₂.₅), atmospheric modeling, and climate variability, and integrating these disciplines to support national climate policy. He has conducted high-resolution climate projection studies using CMIP6 datasets and developed monthly-based extreme climate indices to enhance climate risk assessment. Moreover, he prepares and promotes the integration of short-lived climate forcers (SLCFs) issue with climate change strategies to generate co-benefits and strengthen Thailand’s climate policy implementation.
