Chief Engineer, Central Water Commission, India Profile / Bio Sh D.P.Mathuria is an officer of Central Water Engineering Services with about 33 years of overall experience for working in water resources sector at Central government level. In addition, he had worked as Executive Director (Technical) in National Mission for Clean Ganga and as Member Secretary in Upper Yamuna River Board, During this period, he has worked extensively for planning of water resources and river development projects. He has also worked as Member Secretary of Upper Yamuna River Board and Executive Director(Technical) in Governing Council and Executive Committee of National Mission for Clean Ganga which functions as Secretariat for implementation of Namami Gange programme of Govt of India. Presently, he is working as Chief Engineer (Planning & Development) of Central Water Commission. The diverse activities being looked after include coastal management issues in maritime states/ UTs, management of hydro-meteorological data from CWC pan-India network, which includes that for coastal sites. He is Member Secretary of Coastal Protection and Development Advisory Committee, with representatives of 13 maritime States and Central Institutions/ Departments. He is steering preparing framework for coastal data and information management, its archival and retrieval including national policy framework for its dissemination. He is also steering establishment of coastal sites for collection of long term data for planning various mitigation measures against coastal erosion processes.
