Profile / Bio
Shaun Wellbourne-Wood has worked in international development for more than 20 years. He is currently the Dean (ASEAN) for Curtin University in Australia, although based permanently in Indonesia since 2013. Shaun is also a senior applied research specialist for the Asian Development Bank (ADB) contributing to the energy transition; research, development, and innovation; and higher education contexts.
Shaun was formerly the ASEAN Representative for the Australian Technology Network of Universities (ATN) and the Director and Principal Investigator of Saksara Research (Indonesia). Shaun led numerous research projects related to maternal mortality throughout Eastern Indonesia, Vocational Education and Training (VET), tobacco control, and research related to technology and the future of work in Indonesia.
