Profile / Bio

Assist. Prof. Dr. Sarin Chan is the Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Head of the Department of Industrial and Mechanical Engineering at the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC). A Mechanical and Thermal Systems Design Engineer with over 15 years of experience, Dr. Chan specializes in refrigeration, air-conditioning, and energy efficiency. His technical expertise extends niche applications in bio-briquettes, drying technology, and passive cooling strategies for tropical climates.

Dr. Chan has served as a Principal Investigator and Consultant for international development organizations including UNEP, ESCAP, UNDP, and GGGI, leading projects on sustainable cooling, passive cooling strategies, and energy management. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Mechanical Engineering from Institut Teknologi Bandung (Indonesia) and Keio University (Japan). A certified ASEAN Energy Management Professional (ASEAN EMP) and Energy Manager and Auditor trainer, Dr. Chan also serves as an Advisory Board Member for the National Council of Science, Technology and Innovation in Cambodia (NCSTI).
