Profile / Bio

Sarala K.C. is a dedicated Nepali social activist and community leader known for her strong involvement in women empowerment, cooperative development, and grassroots economic initiatives in Kathmandu, Nepal. For more than two decades, she has been actively engaged in grassroots social mobilization, with a strong focus on women’s economic empowerment, cooperative development, and community-led initiatives.

Her professional journey began with the Galaincha Tatha Un Bikas Samitee - the Committee of Carpet and Wool Production. During her professional career, she worked in organizing women’s savings groups and cooperatives, supporting vegetable vendors, and contributing to housing initiatives for marginalized communities. She played a pivotal role in the establishment of Women Cooperative of Vegetable Venders (Shree Mahila Tarkari Byabasayi Saving and Credit Cooperative Ltd.) and in strengthening the institutional foundation of the Community Women Forum.

K.C. served as the Founder and Chairperson of Shree Mahila Tarakari Byawasayee Bachat and Credit Cooperative and has held several key leadership positions within the Community Women Forum, including Treasurer and Secretary. She is now the Chairperson of the Community Women Forum.
