Samiuela Pohiva

Samiuela Pohiva is the Principal Secretary within the Policy & Planning Department of Tonga’s Ministry of Internal Affairs, bringing over a decade of experience in public policy, local government administration, and community development. From 2013 to 2019, he provided technical support on local government policy and community development planning, including data analysis and reporting. Since 2020, he has led strategic planning, corporate and annual management planning processes, and the development and implementation of monitoring and evaluation frameworks to support evidence-based policymaking in Tonga.
