Roger Vickerman is also a Visiting Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Imperial College London where he is Chair of the Transport Strategy Centre. Educated at the Universities of Cambridge and Sussex, he has an Honorary Doctorate from the Philipps-Universität, Marburg. He is also a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, the Royal Society of Arts, and the Regional Studies Association; and a Chartered Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport. He has been a visiting professor in Canada, Germany, Hungary, and Australia. His research focuses on the relationship between transport (especially infrastructure) and economic development; regional development and integration in the European Union.
