Ambassador Raekwon Chung is an adviser for Hanki Industrial Co., Board Director for Ban Ki-Moon Foundation, the first Climate Change Ambassador for Korea, and Chairman of New Climate Innovation Center, Tashkent State University of Economics, Uzbekistan.
H.E. Mr. Chung Professor is also a Professor Emeritus at Incheon National University in Songdo. He is the former Climate Change Ambassador of Korea, Director for Environment and Development Division of UN ESCAP, Director-General for International Economic Affairs at Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Korea. Mr. Chung was involved in global climate debates since the drafting of UNFCCC from 1991 until the Paris Agreement on climate change in 2015, where he, among others, proposed the unilateral Clean Development Mechanism in 2000 at Hague and the NAMA Registry in 2009 at Copenhagen. He also proposed Green Growth since 2005 as a new paradigm of sustaining economic growth by investing in climate action.
Ambassador Chung is now a member of the International Award Committee of Global Energy Prize established by President Putin of Russia in 2002.
