Dr. Poonnatree Jiaviriyaboonya is an accomplished academic with a focus on Anthropology. She currently holds the position of Assistant Professor and Lecturer at the Faculty of Liberal Arts and Science, Nakhon Phanom University.
Dr. Jiaviriyaboonya completed her bachelor of arts in political science (sociology and anthropology) from Chulalongkorn University in 2006. She then went on to earn her master of arts in anthropology from Northern Illinois University, and her doctor of philosophy in anthropology from The Australian National University. Dr. Jiaviriyaboonya’s fields of expertise include Cultural Anthropology, Anthropology of Religion, Culture, Society and Religion in Southeast Asia, Anthropology and Tourism, and Anthropology of Public Health.
She has led several research projects, including studies on urban policy development, health volunteer networks during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the experiences of prejudice among transnational ethnic laborers. Her work has been published in numerous academic journals and she has presented at various international and national conferences.
