Dr. Peter Droogers is an expert on integrated water resources management at different spatial scales with an emphasis on climate change. His current activities include climate risk assessment for ADB and World Bank projects, focusing on assessing climate risks and analyzing potential adaptation strategies. He uses the latest IPCC climate projections combined with downscaling techniques and simulation modeling. Outputs are aimed at practical use for project developers and water managers.
Peter has over 20 years of experience working in over 40 countries. Currently, he is attached to FutureWater (www.futurewater.nl), a research and consultancy based in Netherlands and Spain. Previous employments were at Wageningen University (Netherlands), International Irrigation Management Institute (Turkey), International Water Management Institute (Sri Lanka), and Stockholm Environment Institute (Sweden). Peter is a part-time lecturer at several universities and has written over 200 publications of which 60 appeared in peer-reviewed journals (h-index of 25).
