Nick Allison

Nick Allison comes to GS1 New Zealand from a position as a Principal Economist at the New Zealand Institute of Economic Research (NZIER). At GS1, Nick works with Government agencies to support their adoption of GS1’s global data standards for identification, traceability and electronic data interchange (EDI).

He has previously held leadership roles at the Ministry of Economic Development, Foundation for Research, Science & Technology, Transfund and Ernst & Young.

Nick has extensive experience in providing professional services for the public and private sectors. This includes leading strategy and policy development, managing large advisory projects and complex stakeholder relationships around sensitive issues. His areas of expertise are in public policy, regulatory management, industry market assessments and business case development. Nick has in-depth work experience in the science and technology, transport, primary industries, environment and construction sectors. He excels in managing stakeholder and client relationships, dealing with ambiguity and finding solutions to complex problems.
