Nathan Rive is Senior Climate Change Specialist, PRM. In ADB's Central and West Asia Regional Department, Nathan administers and develops adaptation projects primarily in the water resources sector, and leads the department's climate change risk management processes.
Nathan has worked on climate change policy, economics, and science for over 15 years in Europe and Asia. In ADB’s Climate Change, Resilience, and Environment cluster, he is the agriculture and natural resources sector lead and climate focal for Pakistan. He develops climate change adaptation and disaster resilience projects and programs primarily in the water resources sector. He is based in ADB’s Pakistan Resident Mission since October 2022. Prior to joining ADB, he was Senior Research Fellow at the Center for Climate Research in Oslo and Senior Analyst at the mining firm Rio Tinto in London. He holds a PhD in Environmental Science and Policy and MSc in Environmental Technology (Energy Policy) from Imperial College London.
