Dr. Nathan Lee is a Researcher with the US Department of Energy’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory. Nathan’s research is focused on decision support and energy system planning, which includes generation and transmission systems as well as power sector resilience planning. He has an extensive international research portfolio that centers around supporting energy strategy development in emerging economies. In recent years he has supported technical potential assessments and resilience planning activities in the Lao PDR, proactive transmission planning for renewables in the Philippines, and economic potential assessments for wind and solar photovoltaics in Southeast Asia. Nathan’s doctoral research focused on decision support methodologies for national energy planning in developing economies, focused on the Economic Community of West African States.
