Profile / Bio: 

Dr. Minhaj Mahmud is a Senior Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). He is also a Visiting fellow to the JICA Ogata Research Institute, Tokyo. Previously he held academic and research positions, respectively, at Queens University Belfast, Keele University, BRAC University and Jahangirnagar University and BRAC Institute of Governance and Development and BIDS. He has also held visiting appointments at Jawaharlal University, University of Tokyo and University of Dhaka. His field of research is broadly in the area of behavioral economics, development economics, experimental economics and political economy issues. He is the co-editor of the book Economic and Social Development of Bangladesh: Miracle and Challenges published by Palgrave Macmillan. He holds a Ph.D. degree in Economics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden.
