Minh Tam Bui is, currently, an Assistant Professor of economics at Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok. She holds a PhD in Economics from Thammasat University, Thailand. Prior to her PhD, she worked as an economist with various ministries and donor-funded development projects in Vietnam, including the World Bank, DFID, ADB, ILO, UNDP. Dr. Bui was invited to the Department of Economics, University of Utah (USA) in 2014 and the School of Political Science and Economics, Meiji University (Japan) in 2018 as a visiting scholar. Dr. Bui’s research interest covers gender inequality and women’s economic empowerment and entrepreneurship. Her recent research interests include time use survey, unpaid care work, unpaid household service marketization, aging society and financial inclusion in Thailand and Vietnam. She has also been working on the topics of ASEAN economic integration such as migration, international trade, border economy and regional production network. Her most recent research projects are involved with time allocations and ICT adoption during Covid-19 pandemic, workers in the global value chains, from a gender perspective.
