Meutia Chaerani

Meutia Chaerani (Rani) is the Senior Energy Specialist of the Energy Transition Team in the Energy Sector Office, Asian Development Bank. She is leading ADB’s engagement with the Government of Kazakhstan on the power and industrial transition to cleaner energy, as well as on critical minerals and manufacturing in Kazakhstan. 

Before this assignment, Rani was posted in Indonesia to lead the engagement of the Energy Transition Mechanism Country Platform under the Ministry of Finance. Previously, she worked as the Risk Management Specialist in the Office of Risk Management and Project Portfolio Analyst in the Indonesia Resident Mission, where she received the ADB Vice President Award. She graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Master’s degree in environmental management, and is a certified Sustainability and Climate Risk Professional. She is also an avid philanthropist in the field of arts and culture, which garnered awards from the Korean and Australian governments for her volunteer initiatives.
