Mathew Savage is Director of Oxford Consulting Partners and a leading expert on the economics of resilience. He has undertaken economic appraisal on more than £2 billion of climate programming under the UK International Climate Fund, and developed guidance on value for money in resilience programming for the UK government. He is also currently seconded to the COP 26 team to support preparations for the UK Presidency. He has been involved in a number of studies looking at the economics of climate change at national and regional level in Asia and sub-Saharan Africa. He is currently leading the economics work on the Urban Climate Change Resilience Trust Fund (UCCRTF) at the ADB, looking at the costs and benefits of resilient infrastructure investment and technical assistance for a portfolio of secondary cities across Asia. He is an experienced evaluator and project developer, having recently led the overall global impact assessment of the Climate Investment Funds. He previously worked for the International Finance Corporation leading regional advisory services on climate change and has held a number of academic and consultancy positions.
