Marlon Apanada is the Southeast Asia Engagement Lead for Energy & Climate at the World Resources Institute (WRI). He brings 15 years' in-depth experience in the clean energy space, which includes leading the business development of successfully commissioned renewable energy projects along with advising Global Fortune 500 companies in their renewables procurement roadmaps, successfully developing the first bank-financed solar projects in the Philippines, and pioneering climate finance practice locally and regionally. He was also the Convenor of the Greening the Banks initiative, an ASEAN-wide program aiming to mobilize private sector participation in green finance.
Prior to WRI, Marlon spent 6 years as Managing Director for Philippines of Allotrope Partners, a clean energy investment and advisory services firm headquartered in the San Francisco Bay Area, and one of WRI's partners in the Clean Energy Investment Accelerator (CEIA). A certified Green Finance Specialist, Marlon is pursuing his MBA with Beuth University of Applied Sciences in Berlin, finished a certificate course on Sustainable Finance at the University of Oxford's Smith School of Enterprise and Environment in the UK, and received his Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science from the Ateneo de Manila University, Philippines.
