Mr. Mario Di Maio is a national of New Zealand. He is current serving as Principal Advisor, COVID-19 Response Policy and Strategy at the New Zealand Treasury (Te Tai Ohanga).
Mr. Di Maio has extensive policy experience in his role as Principal Advisor in the New Zealand Treasury. His roles have included international economic issues, economic reform and strategy, macroeconomic policy, housing policy, industry and regional development policy, and science and technology policy.
From 2016 to 2019 Mr. Di Maio served as Alternate Director for Armenia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Indonesia, Kyrgyz Republic, New Zealand, Niue, Samoa and Tonga at the Asian Development Bank. Mr. Di Maio has also worked at the IMF in Washington as Senior Advisor and Advisor to the Executive Director. Mr. Di Maio was an alternate negotiator for New Zealand in the formation of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, and New Zealand representative to OECD working party 1.
