Forester Ma. Teresa Galano Aquino serves in concurrent capacity as chief of the Forest Resources Conservation Division (FRCD) of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ Forest Management Bureau (FMB) and as assistant to the national coordinator of the National Greening Program (NGP) since the program was launched in May 2011 and for which she was involved in the formulation of guidelines and implementing rules and regulations.

As head of the FRCD, her job entails extending technical assistance to the FMB director in formulating policies and strategies for the sustainable management of the country’s forests and forestlands and coordinating with other government agencies and nongovernment organizations including civil society the promotion of sustainable forest management. In close coordination with the FMB director and assistant director, Aquino closely collaborates with international and local development partners in the implementation of programs and projects. She also plans, directs, and supervises all FRCD activities.

As assistant/deputy to the national coordinator of the NGP, Aquino discharges functions involving day-to-day operations at the National Greening Program Coordinating Office supervising/mentoring extension officers over and above coordinative meetings and planning sessions with partner government agencies.
