Lormelyn Claudio

Lormelyn E. Claudio is a seasoned environmental management professional with an extensive and distinguished career in public service. She currently serves as Director IV of the Ecosystems Research and Development Bureau (ERDB) under the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR), where she leads research and development efforts to support the country’s environmental and natural resource policies.

Director Claudio has held numerous key leadership positions within the Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) across Regions 8, 7, 6, 3, 2, and MIMAROPA. In each of these roles, she has demonstrated strong expertise in policy development, environmental planning, and sustainable resource management. Her leadership has been instrumental in advancing environmental impact assessments, pollution control initiatives, and sustainability programs throughout the country.

An accomplished academic, she holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Planning from Maryknoll College (now Miriam College) and has completed graduate coursework for a Master of Science in Environmental Management at the Philippine Women’s University. Her early academic achievements include graduating as both Valedictorian and Salutatorian at the elementary and high school levels, respectively.

Director Claudio is widely recognized as a thought leader in environmental governance, actively participating in both national and international environmental conferences and training programs. Her exemplary service has been honored with multiple awards and commendations from institutions such as the Commission on Audit (COA), the National Museum, and Miriam College, reflecting her unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.

With decades of experience in government service, Director Claudio continues to advocate for innovative environmental management solutions, inclusive policy development, and community-driven conservation efforts.
