
Prof. Dr. Leigh Hancher is a renowned European competition and regulatory law expert with an extensive background in energy market regulation and sectoral policy reforms. She is the Director and Professor of the Energy Union Law Area at the Florence School of Regulation, Visiting Professor of European energy market law at the University of Bergen, and European Law at the University of Tilburg in the Netherlands. Her career also includes roles such as Professor at Erasmus University Rotterdam, Visiting Professor at the University of Calgary, Canada, Head of Legal at the Energy Charter Secretariat in Brussels, member of the Dutch Academic Advisory Council, member of the Dutch Mining Council and Counsel to the Amsterdam office of Allen & Overy and the Brussels office of BakerBotts.
