Julia Assad

Julia joined IFC Upstream in 2020 as a Senior Investment Officer in the Global Upstream Department and will be moving roles within IFC starting July 2023 as a Senior Housing Specialist in the Global Housing Department in the Financial Institutions Group, based in Washington D.C.  

Julia brings over 22 years of international experience in the financial sector, having worked for UBS AG, Barclays Bank PLC, BNP Paribas, Grameen-Jameel Microfinance Ltd., and the European Investment Bank. Her experience has been mainly in financial institution investments, retail banking, credit risk, SME finance, microfinance & financial inclusion, and more recently in affordable housing in emerging countries. Julia has significant experience in the financial sector in Africa, the Middle East, Europe, and certain countries in Asia and South America.
