
José A. Aguado got his Industrial (major in power systems) Engineering degree and PhD from the University of Málaga in 1997 and 2001, respectively. He is a full professor and department head of the Electrical Engineering Department at the University of Málaga in Spain. He is Director of the “Energy Transformation” Chair at the University of Málaga. He has led more than 40 publicly-funded research and consultancy projects in the operation and planning of smart grids, renewable energies, energy efficiency, and wireless power transfer. He also serves regularly as a consultant to WorldBank and the Asian Development Bank on Universal Energy Access. He has authored 40 papers in ISI technical journals (h-index = 20, +1800 citations), one book by Springer Verlag, and 80+ publications as book chapters and international conferences. He actively participates in scientific associations such as CIGRE and IEEE, where he was Vice-President of the IEEE Power and Energy Spanish Section. His expertise lies in the Operation and Planning of Electric Energy Systems, Renewable Energy, Energy Storage, and Electric Vehicles.
