Jhon Magkilat is a Knowledge and Training Advisor at HealthAI, where he designs and delivers international capacity-building initiatives on Responsible AI in health. He holds a master’s degree in public policy and brings over a decade of experience spanning higher education, non-profits, healthcare, and global health. His professional journey has taken him from universities in the Philippines and Germany, to mission-driven NGOs, to supporting the integration of international medical professionals within a German hospital network. His work focuses on equipping policymakers and regulators worldwide to govern AI ethically, safely, and effectively, with a strong emphasis on equity, patient safety, and real-world impact.

Beyond AI governance, Jhon has extensive experience in formal and non-formal education, youth engagement, EU project management, and more than five years of work in global mobility and migration systems. He thrives in multicultural and cross-sector environments, translating complex concepts into clear, practical, and inclusive learning experiences for diverse audiences. Fluent in Tagalog, Ilocano, Cebuano, English, German, and Spanish, with working knowledge of French and Portuguese, he collaborates confidently across cultures and international contexts.
