Javier Guzman

Mr. Javier Guzmán is Division Chief for Health, Nutrition, and Population at the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). He leads the Bank’s health sector strategy and portfolio across Latin America and the Caribbean, focusing on improving health systems, enhancing pandemic preparedness, and promoting equitable access to care. Prior to joining the IDB, Mr. Guzman served as Director of the Global Health Policy Program at the Center for Global Development. He held senior leadership roles at Management Sciences for Health and the Colombian Ministry of Health. A medical doctor and health economist, he has over two decades of experience in health financing, policy reform, and pharmaceutical systems. Mr. Guzman is recognized globally for his contributions to public health policy and innovation.
