Profile / Bio: 

His first assignment as missionary to Papua New Guinea was in Ambunti (1987-1988) as Parish Priest of the said parish from 1989-1995. In October 1995 he was assigned to the Divine Word Institute in Madang as President. Under his leadership the Institute evolved into Divine Word University of which he was the funding President until 2016.

In 1997 he established the PNG Vice-Chancellors Committee (PNGVCC) and was the Chairperson until 2016. In 2000 -Granted by UNESCO a Chair in Freedom of Expression. UNESCO Office Responsible for the Chair/ Network communication and Information. In 2002 he established the Papua New Guinea Higher Education Quality Assurance and Accreditation Committee of which was chairman for five years. He was appointed as Zonal Coordinator of ASPAC from 2002- 2008. While in Divine Word University, he was taking pastoral care of Riwo, Parish, Archdiocese of Madang.

In 2016 he was appointed by the PNG government as the Executive Chairperson to establish a new University in PNG– the Western Pacific University. 2013— 2014 he was appointed by the National Executive Council of Papua New Guinea as Chairperson of the Task Force to review the Outcome Base Education in PNG. He also established the Innovative University of Enga.

In 2017 he was appointed by the PNG government as Secretary of the Department of Education, Research, Science and Technology because of his extensive experience in the field of higher education.

For his contribution to the education and higher education in PNG in 2018 he received the Knight’s Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, received from the President of the Republic of Poland- award for distinguish service in Higher Education of high degree to Papua New Guinea sustained over a period of thirty years. In 2010 he received the Honoris Causa - the degree of Doctor of the Australian Catholic University, awarded for services to Higher Education in Papua New Guinea and the development of Divine Word University. In 2006 he was awarded the Companion of the Star of Melanesia (CSM), a Papua New Guinea Government awarded him for distinguished service of high degree to Papua New Guinea. And in 2005 he received a Medal - Award from the Papua New Guinea Government, or contributions to the development of Higher Education PNG. In 2000: Medal – Awarded to him from the Papua New Guinea Government, for contribution to the development of PNG.
