Principal Pavement Engineer, National Transport Research Organization Profile / Bio James is a principal pavement engineer leading the Sustainable Infrastructure Materials Portfolio within Sustainability and Materials Performance at the National Transport Research Organisation (NTRO). James has more than 20 years of experience in pavement engineering and pavement materials spanning the UK and Australia. He has researched a variety of road construction types including bituminous binders, asphalt, concrete, unbound granular and stabilised materials. Since arriving at NTRO 9 years ago, his work has focused on sustainable construction techniques and the beneficial use of recycled materials in transport infrastructure. James has published more than 100 journal papers and peer reviewed conference papers. He sits on a number of local and international technical committees and is involved with the international research community through interaction and membership of various research associations.
