Jaekeun Ryu is the Deputy Director, Department of Long-Term Care Insurance Benefits, National Health Insurance Service (NHIS), Republic of Korea

Jaekeun Ryu is a Deputy Director in the Department of Long-Term Care Insurance Benefits at the NHIS. Since joining the NHIS in 2009, he has built comprehensive expertise across the institution’s core long-term care divisions, including Planning, Resources, and Review, with a specialized focus on data-driven policy design and cost analysis.

Jaekeun studied Public Administration and Economics at Chung-Ang University, was an exchange student at the University of Nebraska at Kearney, and earned a Master of Science from Weill Cornell Medicine of Cornell University. He is also a Korea-certified Cost Analyst.

He is passionate about advancing ‘Aging in Place’, improving the quality of long-term care, and exchanging knowledge and experience with international partners to elevate care systems toward global standards.
