Jacob Veerman is a national of the Netherlands. He is an internationally experienced diplomat specializing in economic and strategic development, change, and project management. Jacob has a broad knowledge and experience in the field of water management and infrastructure. He completed his master’s degree in social-economic history at Amsterdam University in 1992. He also has a Bachelor’s degree in education: history and geography.
Since May 2019, Jacob works at ADB’s Water Sector Group as a Senior Resources Specialist. He has held various positions at the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs, most recently as Project manager Trade and Innovate. He has been with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs since 1992. He worked as a Sr. Policy Advisor at the Dutch Embassy in Paramaribo (Surinam), was the Dutch Deputy Consul General in Los Angeles and San Francisco, Deputy Ambassador Dutch Embassy Mexico City, and the Director of the Documentary Information Systems Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He started his career as a geography teacher at a Dutch High School in Hoorn, the Netherlands
