Head of Satellite Remote Sensing Section, NIES Profile / Bio Isamu Morino is currently the Head of the Satellite Remote Sensing Section and the validation team leader at the Satellite Observation Center of the Earth System Division at National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) in Japan. He is responsible for validating GOSAT (Greenhouse gases Observing SATellite) and GOSAT-2 data. Using ground-based reference data such as TCCON, NDACC ground FTS, lidar, and sky radiometer data, he studies the quality of GOSAT, GOSAT-2, and GOSAT-GW (Global Observing SATellite for Greenhouse gases and Water cycle) data. Currently, he is focusing on the COCCON FTS network in the Tokyo micropolitan area and establishing new ground FTS sites in India.
