Professor, University of the Philippines College of Medicine Profile / Bio Dr. Iris Thiele Isip Tan is a practicing endocrinologist and professor at the University of the Philippines College of Medicine, where she leads the Medical Informatics Unit. She works at the intersection of clinical practice, medical education, and health policy, bringing these together to address a single problem: what it takes to make AI work in resource-constrained settings. As convenor of the UP Center for Integrative and Development Studies Program for Health Systems Development, she currently leads a grant on AI readiness among primary care health workers. She holds a master's degree in health informatics and was recognized by the Metrobank Foundation as an Outstanding Filipino in Higher Education.
