Irfan Qureshi

Profile / Bio

Irfan Qureshi is a Senior Public Sector Economist in the Public Sector Management and Governance Sector Office of the Asian Development Bank. He is currently outposted to Indonesia, where he supports policy reforms related to state-owned enterprises, fiscal decentralization, and economic resilience and competitiveness.

Previously, he worked in ADB’s Macroeconomic Research Department, where he contributed to macroeconomic surveillance, monitoring, and research for the flagship publication, Asian Development Outlook. His research interests include financial market development, macroeconomic policy, and nowcasting, and his work on monetary policy and debt dynamics in emerging markets has been published in academic journals.

Mr. Qureshi joined ADB as a Young Professional, initially serving in the Economic Research and Regional Cooperation Department and later in the Public Management, Financial Sector, and Trade Division of the Central and West Asia Department. He holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Warwick, United Kingdom.
