Dr. İbrahim Gündoğdu is a tourism academic specializing in health tourism, sustainable tourism, and eco-labeling practices. He currently serves as a Research Assistant at the Faculty of Tourism, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Tourism and Hotel Management from the same university, and completed his PhD in Tourism Management at Kastamonu University in Türkiye.

Throughout his academic career, he has conducted field research in Kyrgyzstan and Central Asia on the potential of health tourism, the integration of traditional therapies such as kumis and donkey milk into tourism services, and the development of sanatorium-based health treatments. His doctoral dissertation proposed a sustainable health tourism model tailored for Kyrgyzstan.

Dr. Gündoğdu has authored several peer-reviewed publications, including articles indexed in SCI-E and other international databases. He has participated in nationally funded research projects as both a coordinator and researcher, contributing to studies on hotel eco-certification systems and environmental awareness in the hospitality industry.

In his teaching role, he lectures on topics such as health tourism, sustainable tourism, and current issues in tourism. He has also served as a speaker in seminars organized in collaboration with various institutions and actively participated in community-focused tourism education programs.

He is fluent in Russian and Kyrgyz and has an intermediate level of English. His ongoing academic and community engagement reflects his commitment to fostering regional cooperation, interdisciplinary approaches, and tourism policies that prioritize public health and sustainability.
