Hiroshi Takami joined the Asian Development Bank Institute (ADBI) as Director of Administration, Management, and Coordination in July 2021.
Before joining ADBI, he worked at the Ministry of Finance (MOF) of Japan in various capacities, most recently as Executive Vice President of the MOF Policy Research Institute. Prior to that, he worked as Deputy Director General and Director of the Coordination Division of the MOF Customs and Tariff Bureau, and as Minister of the Embassy of Japan in Beijing, People’s Republic of China.
Throughout his career, he has focused on customs and tariff policy, international finance, and other fiscal and finance issues related to regional cooperation in Asia and Pacific, and served in diplomatic missions, including work at the Embassy of Japan in the Philippines.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in law from Hitotsubashi University.
