Director, Data, Strategy and Innovation, WHO Regional Office for the Western Pacific Profile / Bio Dr Hiromasa leads work on digital health and integrated health information systems and on the ethical governance of digital technology and leads the Region’s responsible AI agenda. He also oversees Research, Ethics and Innovation to strengthen research ecosystems (including genomics and clinical trials) and research ethics, and capacity building and leadership development while advancing healthy ageing priorities. He has more than 15 years of WHO experience across Headquarters, Regional Office, and Country Offices, in positions addressing infectious diseases, NCDs, and ageing. He previously served as Director of Healthy Environments and Populations in the Western Pacific.
