Hawwa Liuza Ali

Ms. Hawwa Liuza currently serves as the Assistant Director of the Energy Department at the Ministry of Tourism and Environment in the Maldives. With over 14 years of service at the Ministry, she has made significant contributions to the formulation and implementation of national policies in the energy and environmental sectors. Her expertise spans conventional and renewable energy, energy efficiency, and regulatory planning.

Ms. Liuza holds a Master’s degree in Global Environmental Studies from Sophia University, Japan. Earlier in her career, she played a pivotal role in advancing biodiversity conservation and environmental protection initiatives within the Maldives.
