Gianluca Santoni is a Senior Economist in the Institute for Macroeconomic and International Policies (i-MIP) at the Paris School of Economics. He holds a PhD in International Economics from the University of Rome "Tor Vergata". His research focuses on global value chains, international trade and firm competitiveness. Previously, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Sant'Anna School of Advanced Studies and has worked as a consultant for international institutions, including the World Bank and the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO). His work has appeared in leading academic journals, including the European Economic Review, the Journal of Economic Geography, the Journal of Regional Science, and Regional Science and Urban Economics. He has also contributed to major international databases supporting research and policy analysis on global trade and value chains.
