Gi Soon Song

Profile / Bio: 

Ms. Gi Soon Song is currently in charge of the overall portfolio management of the Human and Social Development Division, South Asia Department as well as ADB’s education operation in Sri Lanka, worth over $300 million ongoing programs. She worked on various education and skills development projects in Nepal, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka since 2011, after spending 2 years in the Pacific Department of ADB. Prior to joining ADB, Ms. Song had been with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) in Jakarta, Indonesia from 2003 to 2009 and was the Program Management Support Manager responsible for assisting the Governance Unit in developing, planning, monitoring, and evaluating governance programs/projects in line with UNDP policy and strategy. Ms. Song, a national of the Republic of Korea, obtained her PhD in Agricultural Science from Bonn University in Germany (2002); her Masters in International Commerce from Korea University in Seoul, Korea (1999); and her Bachelor in English Language and Literature from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, Korea (1995).
