Ganesh Pillai

Ganesh Pillai is a Consultant at ADB. He has been a Food & Agribusiness sector banker for the large part of his professional career, large part of it with Rabobank International. Presently he works with the Agribusiness Investments Team of ADB. In the early part of his career he had a stint each with the Farm Input businesses of the TATA and Godrej groups.

His professional interest lies in assignments that are at the intersection of Science, Business, Finance and Sustainabiliity in Agriculture. He is an alumnus of Kerala Agricultural University, Indian Agricultural Research Institute, New Delhi  and Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad.

Ganesh hails from the Kuttanad region of Kerala, where the farming system is a  Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System as per FAO. His other areas of professional interest lies in Farmer Collectives, Climate Resilience etc., and is closely associated with a farmer group in Kuttanad practising Natural Farming.
