Head of Pacific Subregional Office, UNDRR Profile / Bio Gabrielle Emery is the Head of the Pacific Subregional Office of the United Nations Office for Disaster Risk Reduction (UNDRR). She leads the organization’s work across Pacific Island countries to strengthen disaster risk reduction (DRR), climate resilience, and risk-informed development. With extensive experience in international development and humanitarian coordination, Emery works closely with governments, regional organizations, and development partners to support the implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 in the Pacific. Her work focuses on integrating disaster risk management into national policies, strengthening early warning systems, and promoting resilient infrastructure and communities. Before leading the Pacific Subregional Office, she held several roles within the United Nations system and development sector, supporting disaster preparedness, climate adaptation, and sustainable development initiatives in vulnerable regions.
