Firuz Ibrohimov holds a BSc. in Agriculture, an MSc. in Land Management, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science. He is an expert in natural resource management with over 20 years of practical experience in various domains, such as forest, pasture, and protected areas management, policy and planning, sustainable use, and natural resource governance. His main research interest is in community-based natural resource management and sustainable use under climate change scenarios. He has led several legal drafting initiatives at different scales, from national to regional and international. He has a solid record in implementing, monitoring, and managing projects' portfolios, as well as providing advice and evaluation for capacity development and sectoral projects funded by multilateral donors, such as the UN, GEF, GCF, Adaptation Fund, and EU. He has worked as an independent consultant in more than 10 countries, conducting midterm and final/terminal evaluations for UNDP-GEF, UNEP-GEF, and EU projects in Uzbekistan, Georgia, Russia,  Jordan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, China, Montenegro, and Botswana. He is fluent in Tajik (native), English, Russian, Persian, Uzbek, Kazakh, and Turkish.
