Emily So

Emily So is a Senior Energy Specialist at the Asian Development Bank (ADB), with over 17 years of experience in the energy sector. She leads the preparation and implementation of energy sector projects and programs across Southeast Asia and the Pacific, with a focus on power transmission and distribution, renewable energy integration, battery energy storage systems, grid modernization, and energy security.

At ADB, she works closely with governments, utilities, development partners, and the private sector to develop and finance energy infrastructure and support the transition toward more reliable, resilient, and low-carbon power systems. Her current work includes major power transmission and grid strengthening initiatives in Viet Nam, Cambodia, Samoa, and other developing member countries, as well as regional knowledge and partnership activities on emerging energy technologies.
