Profile / Bio

Dr. Ekbordin Winijkul is an Assistant Professor in the Environmental Engineering and Management program at the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT), Thailand. He earned his Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA, in 2015. His research focuses on emission inventories, air pollution modeling and monitoring, air quality management, and environmental technology and policy.

Prior to joining AIT, he served as a project coordinator for a World Bank initiative aimed at reducing air pollution from diesel vehicles in Bangkok, Thailand. He has also worked with Argonne National Laboratory (USA), the International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (Austria), and Atmospheric and Environmental Research, Inc. (USA), where he contributed to emission inventory development for various combustion sources. His recent research includes modeling black carbon deposition on Himalayan glaciers, cost–benefit analysis of cleaner fuels and vehicles in the Maldives, and air quality management strategies in Thailand.
