Diane Figueroa is the Director for Innovative Finance, Asia-Pacific at Rare, where she leads the design and implementation of innovative financing mechanisms that enable large-scale conservation and climate resilience outcomes. Her work includes the recently launched weather index-based parametric insurance for small-scale fishers in the Philippines, ecosystem-based insurance for coral reefs and other marine and land ecosystems, and outcome-based financing, most notably the Small-Scale Fisheries Impact Bond in Southeast Sulawesi, Indonesia. Diane works closely with governments, multilateral institutions, insurers, investors, scientists, and local communities to translate scientific insights into policy-ready and financially viable conservation solutions across the Asia-Pacific region. She holds a Master of Sustainability from the University of Sydney, as well as graduate and undergraduate degrees in biology.
