Deepak Sharma

Mr. Deepak Sharma is currently serving as a Director for Planning and Monitoring in the Department of Education (DOE) under the Ministry of Education. The DOE has the sole responsibility for the planning, programming, monitoring and management of the school education sub sector. Government of Nepal is implementing School Sector Development Plan (SSDP) under the SWAP and DOE is working as implementing agency.

Mr. Sharma has around 32 years experience in education sector in various capacities such as school teacher, school supervisor, Planning and Monitoring Officer, Research Officer, Senior Instructor, District Education Officer and Director. He also worked as in-charge of the Foreign aid coordination in the Ministry of Education during the Implementation of School Sector Reform Plan (SSRP). Mr. Sharma has been heavily involved from the very beginning of the preparation of SSDP.  

Mr. Sharma completed his Master's Degree in economics from Tribhuvan University Nepal and his Master's Degree in Primary Education from the University of Leeds, UK. He also has received some international awards particularly, International Diploma course on Educational Planning and Administration (India); Planning Capacity Development Training (Japan) and Project management training (Australia).

Having extensive experience within the education sector, Mr. Sharma contributed for Promoting SWAPs which is popularly established in the Education Sector.
